Explanation:

Heat and pressure play an important role in the formation of metamorphic rocks. As we go down into the earth for every 1km there is an increase of 30 Degree Celsius . For the formation of metamorphic rocks optimum heat and pressure is required and that is only possible in deeper surface of the earth. Hope this helps thanks
