Cells are the building blocks of life.

Explanation:

Understanding and learning about cells supports the learning of other biological processes later on. As cells are the smallest units of life, all organisms are made up of one or more cells. The understanding of cells is used when learning about the processes later on such as, absorption, how electrical signals are carried, secretion, why some things such as lack of oxygen can cause death, etc.
