Talibans remain powerful in this country

Explanation:

Afghanistan is a key geopolitical location for several reasons, it is close to major resources(oil) since it is close to the Middle East and Central Asia, though there is no oil there, pipelines driving it are essential for the control of that resouce. It is crucial for the control of the production of heroin, and it is at the margin of what McKinder called the Heartland and is therefore essential to control geopolitically speaking.

This is why groups such as the Talibans cannot be left in power for the control of both the region and the world.
