Why is aerobic respiration better than anaerobic respiration for producing energy in your muscles?

For muscle to undergo repeated contraction , it requires more ATP which is possible only if the muscle cell respires aerobically because the ATP count in aerobic respiration is high.
During vigrous exercises when the muscle does not get sufficient amount of oxygen , it starts respiring anaerobically in which ATP count is low and there is accumulation of Lactic Acid in the muscle which will cause Fatigue and muscle wont be able to contract for long.
