Alcohol addiction, or even soda addiction can lead to excess -- and potentially to disease.
Explanation:
A drink or food product (or ingredient) consumed in excessive quantities (like sugar, beer, salt, or even wine, potatoes, or honey) could potentially lead to disease.
But the greatest danger is when such addiction becomes permanent, when it cannot be removed any longer.
For food companies, the ideal situation would be to addict their customers to a product (like sugary drinks for example), in order to maximize profits. But this would not be fair for the customer.
Food addiction is a form of slavery and it is unfair for anyone to become trapped against his or her will -- because it becomes a lack of freedom.
This is a basic rule of healthy nutrition.
