Why is it unwise to leave a water filled glass bottle in forest?

If it's open it might provide a breeding area for mosquitoes. If it's closed it might freeze and shatter in the winter. If it's on the trail someone might step on it and cut themselves. Or worse, an alien might find it and decide this planet is good place for him and his kin to live.
