Why is negative feedback important?

1 Answer

Negative feedback mechanism basically involves the concept of " too fast , slow down; too slow, speed up " and thus it controls the secretion and inhibition of various hormones.

For eg : When the thyroxine level of blood plasma reaches at required level , then thyroxine exerts a negative feedback on the hypothalamus and anterior pituitary lobe to inhibit or decrease the secretion of TSH-RF and TSH (THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE) respectively.
