Slavery.

Explanation:

(Assuming that youre talking about the Americas civil war ) The civil war occured between the northen population and the south. It was due to the huge difference between the rich aristocracy ( north ) and the poor slaves ( south ) . As a result of the war, the most important thing is that the slavery was abolished, so now you can use the internet and drink coffe instead of gardening 24/7 for a landlord that pays you with a slice of bread per day.

The American civil war because it resolved the problem of slavery and states rights or federal government being primary

Explanation:

The United States had been divided from its very beginning over the issue of slavery. Only the morally questionable three fifths compromise on slave representation in congress allowed the formation of the constitutional government.

Tensions between the southern states with their economy based on slavery and the northern states with their economy based on industrialization continued right up to the Civil War. The Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850 were stop gap efforts to hold the tensions in check.

The tariffs of 1828 which unfairly favored the northern industrial economy brought calls for secession by the southern states. The repeal of the these tariffs resolved the constitutional issue of if states rights trumped Federal law. Later the fugitive slave acts brought calls of succession from Daniel Webster of the north. The Civil war would resolve this question in favor of the Federal laws.

As Abraham Lincoln clearly expressed in a quote from the Bible, a house divided against itself can not stand. The Dred Scott decision and the concept of Popular Soveignity made it possible for slavery to become the norm throughout the nation. With the election of 1860 it was clear that the United States would become either completely free or completely slave. The south fearing that the election of Abraham Lincoln meant that the United States would soon become completely free attempted to leave the Union.

The Civil war was important in that the war resolved the issues of slavery and states rights. The United States would become a free nation, slavery would be outlawed. States rights would no longer rival the authority of the Federal government.
