Why should the U.S. develop alternative energy sources?

Because we do not want to destroy all life on the planet.

Explanation:

The USA currently uses mostly fossil fuels (non-recyclables), which ruins the atmosphere of the planet, making it harder for sunrays to bounce off into space since a layer of CO2 covers the planet more and more every day.

It is essential to the survival of the planet and ALL life on it that all countries try to start using water, wind, and sun energy.

If you can come up with some other energy source that is more efficient and environmant frindly, you'll probably get a Nobel prize.
