Why should topical antibiotics be used instead of intravenous antibiotics in the treatment of burns?

Burns are superficial.

Explanation:

Since burns (most of them) are on the skin and at times, the tissues below, systemic antibiotics are over kill and can cause antibiotic resistances.

We over use antibiotics way too much as it is. We are getting to a point where there just going to be superbugs if we don't slow down their use.
