These are perhaps the foundational mechanisms you learn in organic chemistry.

From now on (if you're taking this class), you'll be blasted with a water-hose of mechanisms every week that often refer back to these fundamental substitution reactions.

My advice: master them quickly and use this foundation to succeed when you're learning 5 mechanisms per lecture.
