Brown vs the Board of Education made the concept of separate but equal unconstitutional providing protection of equal treatment to all.

Explanation:

Before the decision of Brown vs Board of Education. Southern states were allowed to have separate schools for people of color and for white students. These schools were suppose to be equal but in actuality were not fairly structured. The white schools had better teachers, more facilities, textbooks, and libraries.

After the decision of Brown vs Board of Education, Schools could not be segarated by color or race. This provided the people of color access to quality education that had not been open to them before the supreme court decision.

Also the contact between the children of different races, was a significant factor in reducing racial discrimination. Getting to know someone as a person is important in understanding each other.
