I would say yes, as in heating water to change it into steam.
Explanation:
Heat is considered as (internal) energy in transit so that by transferring energy as heat from, say, a fire to a pot of water we'll cause the water to vaporize.
A close "friend" of heat is Work considered as mechanical energy in transit that can be transferred through, say, friction to a piece of metal causing it to become hot and eventually to melt.
