Would quiet eruptions or explosive eruptions be more likely to increase the height of a volcano? Why?
Quiet eruptions FTW!
You see, when there's an explosive eruption parts of the crater falls or flies away in the explosion. This is because the volcano structue collapses due to the intensity of the explotion.
Now, What happens when there's a quiet eruption? Well, the magma that is released arround the crater solidifies once it's cold, which increases the volcano's area without collapsing its structure.
