José Fernandes graduated in Chemical Engineering by the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, earned a PhD degree in Supramolecular Chemistry by the University of Aveiro in and a master degree on Crystallisation and Crystallography by the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Spain. After, he was the P. I of a research project in Aveiro and a post-doc fellow in the Univ. dell'Insubria, Italy. Presently he is a post-doc in the Faculty of Science of the University of Zagreb.
