How does ionic bonding relate to the Lewis Theory?
1 Answer
Short answer: Ionic bonding is the attraction between ions with opposite charges. Lewis theory allows us to write the structures of the ions.
You can find the procedures for writing Lewis structures in earlier Socratic answers such as

http://socratic.org/questions/what-is-the-lewis-structure-of-nh4br
and

These show how to draw Lewis structures for the ionic compounds CaF₂, NH₄Br and Al₂(SO₄)₃.
