You rearrange the equation so it's in the form #y=mx+c#
Where #m# is the gradient and #c# is the intercept.

#2x-3y-5=0#
#3y=2x-5#
So #y=(2x)/(3)# #-(5)/(3)#
So the intercept is #(5)/(3)#
