How do you simplify #(x^(2/5)y)/(xy^(-1/3))#?

Q1. Look at the x's. Do you have more x's in the numerator or denominator?
A1. You have more x's in the denominator. #x^1-x^(2/5)#=#x^(3/5)#

--> #y/(x^(3/5)y^(-1/3)#

Q2. What do we do with the #y^(-1/3)# in the denominator?
A2. We move it to the numerator and make the exponent positive.

--> #(y*y^(1/3))/(x^(3/5)# = #y^(4/3)/x^(3/5)#
