Question #d7a3a
1 Answer
The majority of people who read an answer on Socratic arrive there because they typed a question into Google and clicked on a link to Socratic in the results.
It's likely that they were stuck on a homework question or needed some extra help on a tough topic when they decided to go to Google for help. In turn, Google decided that the best page on the web to show that student was that specific Socratic answer.
So when someone views an answer you've written, it's a good bet that they've found the help they were looking for — all thanks to your explanation.
Thus, we calculate the number of students helped that appears on your Socratic dashboard by tallying the number of views on all answers you have written or contributed to (edited).
This number will only continue to grow the more you contribute to Socratic. Specifically, writing really helpful, original content that doesn't appear elsewhere on the Internet will mean more students find what you've written when they search for help on Google.
