#a# is a number with one non-zero digit in front of the decimal point,
#10^b# is the #10#-power we multiply with to get the right size.

In order to turn your number into the right form we have to move the decimal point two places to the right, making #a=6.7#
To the right means negative power of 10, and two is the power.

So #0.067=6.7*10^-2#

#6700=6.7*10^3# because we move the d.p. three to the left

And:
#6.7=6.7*10^0# because we don't move the decimal point at all.
