I'm sorry, maybe I did not catch what you said, but try to write it LaTeX-ly :)

I think you want where #1/2x^n/{n!}# converges, boy it obviously converges pointwise on #RR# and uniformly on every compact in #RR# to the function 0 (you can use the Cauchy criterion for the exponential series, you know the series of that converges on #e/2#, so the succession must go to 0 in #RR#)

Finally, why is this related to approximating integrals and the Trapezoidal rule?
