Question #be16e

1 Answer

Precipitation reactions.

Explanation:

Double displacement reactions have to produce a gas, water, or a precipitate to occur. Because the DD reactions are traditionally in an aqueous solution, the forward and reverse reactions occur at near instantaneous rate so there can be no progress in one direction or the other. But if one of the products is removed by continual precipitation then Le Chatelier's principle will force the reaction to make more products until it runs to completion. This is also true for if a product is water or gas.
