What you experience as your "head beating" is your heart pumping more rapidly and also the dilation of the blood vessels throughout the body.
Explanation:
When the body is very active physically, you have to remove the extra heat produced. One way is by sweating but another way is for the heart to deliver more blood to the surface. You will note that your skin will become much warmer and will also become flushed or redder.
The heart also has to beat harder to get more oxygen to the active cells.
The rebound of the blood vessels after each heart beat is what you are experiencing. There is nothing wrong, of course.
