It is an equation, not a polynomial.

Explanation:

A Polynomial is a mathematical expression with one or more terms. But there are a few conditions:

  • a variable in the numerator cannot have a negative exponent
  • a variable cannot be inside a radical
  • no variables or expressions in the denominator

For eg. 2x^2 + 4x + 1 is a polynomial

4x^2 is a poplynomial

3sqrtx is NOT a polynomial as x is inside a radical

But x/8 + x/9 = 6 is an equation as it is has an equal sign.

Hence its not a polynomial.
