It is possible to predict.
Explanation:
Alloy is basically a mixture of 2 or more metals, (sometimes non metals are also mixed)
Due to this it is found that the properties are quite different from the actual metal(s) it is made up of. Eg, simple cast iron is soft but when mixed with chromium it becomes hard stainless steel.
Again it is also found that they alloy shows similar properties compared to its main materials but in a much superior manner. E.g, brass is made up of copper, and both of them conduct electricity.
Hence it is possible to estimate its property.
