To find the slope, we will write the equation in the form #y=mx+b#
and find the slope by looking at #m#

#2x-y=1#

#2x=1+y#

#2x-1=y# or #y=2x-1#

  • you might notice that since the "b" term doesn't actually matter you can figure out the problem very quickly by just doing the coefficient in front of x divided by the opposite of the coefficient in front of y or #2/-(-1)#
