Explanation:

Since you are testing for metals (or lack thereof), you can employ a specrtography analysis technique. This works by exciting the the solution, usually by heating them, and recording the wavelength of the colored emitted Since different metals will emit different colors you can easily determine what metal is in your solution by the corresponding color.

This is done in a quality control setting (as with other spectrometry techniques that require more technology and more money i.e. plasma coupled mass spectrometry).
