Respiration without oxygen.

Explanation:

When there is a shortage or no oxygen,our cells respire anaerobically to produce energy for our muscles.This happens during 'burst' exercises.Our blood cannot provide oxygen to our respiring muscles fast enough when we are running in a sprint race.However,as a byproduct of anaerobic respiration,lactic acid is produced in our bodies and only some energy is released.The volume of oxygen required to oxidize the buildup of lactic acid during anaerobic respiration is known as the oxygen debt.

Word Equation:
glucose -> lactic acid + some energy

Chemical equation:
#C_6H_12O_6# -> #2C_3H_6O_3# + some energy

In organism such as yeast however,ethanol and carbon dioxide is produced as a byproduct of anaerobic respiration and this is used to manufacture bear.

Word Equation:
Glucose -> Ethanol + Carbon dioxide + some energy

Chemical equation:
#C_6H_12O_6# -> 2#C_2H_5OH# + 2#CO_2# + some energy
