Why is harvesting adult stem cells less controversial than harvesting embryonic stem cells?

because embryonic cell are looked at as potential humans, so using them in research or medication as if it means killing a human to do so, but adult cells come from a part of this human, for example blood or skin which would not kill the individual when taken .
