For example, when the sequence goes $4, 12$ $4,12$ , $4$ $4$ is being multiplied by $3$ $3$ .

When the sequence goes from $12$ $12$ to $36$ $36$ , $12$ $12$ is being multiplied by $3$ $3$ .

This is true for the entire sequence.

The term following $108$ $108$ will be $108 \times 3 = 324$ $108xx3=324$ .

The term proceeding $4$ $4$ will be $\frac{4}{3}$ $4/3$ since $\frac{4}{3} \times 3 = 4$ $4/3xx3=4$ .
