It's allways useful to bring the #x#'s to one side, and the numbers to the other

(1) We divide everything by #5#:
#-20=-(5+5x)#
(2) Then we can get rid of the minus sign on both sides:
#20=5+5x#
(3) We can again divide everything by #5#
#4=1+x->x=3#

There are several other ways to do this.
But some people see one way clearer than another.
One other way would be:
#->100=5(5+5x)->100=25+25x->75=25x#
#->x=75/25=3#
