Explanation:

Even though 99% of our genetic material is identical, at least 1% helps DNA scientists differ between individuals. The order of base pairs are used to decode the human genes among individuals. Therefore, stretches of DNA are banded. The number of bands are also part of the DNA decoding process as patterns are analyzed.
