seven times x minus y squared.

Explanation:

in any algebraic expression the value in front of the variable , called the coefficient , multiplies the variable. So here 7 is multiplying x.

When a number is being multiplied by itself say # 2xx2#

We say the number is being 'squared' and write it # 2^2 #

The same applies to variables and so # y xx y =y^2 #

Usually just ' seven x minus y squared'
