arteries supply oxygenated blood from the heart to the organs and veins carry deoxygenated blood from the organs to the heart and then to lungs where it is expelled from the body. there is an exception also.Pulmonary vein brings oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart where it is supplied to the whole body whereas Pulmonary artery carries blood from the heart to the lungs where it is expelled through breathing.
