Highest erosion on the outside of bends - deposition on the inside of bends (called point bars).
Explanation:
In locations where the river speeds up (outside of bends, called cut banks) erosion tends to predominate over deposition. Where the river slows down, deposition tends to dominate.
Canoes know that if you want to minimize paddling in a slower river, you stick to the outside bends!
