Many students get confused with a rhombus, thinking it is a new shape which they will have to learn. A rhombus is the same as a diamond! Once you remember that, it will become easier to recognize, learn and remember the properties.

Approach the properties by considering:
the sides: are they equal or parallel?
the angles: Are they equal, complementary or supplementary?
the diagonals: are they equal? do they bisect each other?
do they intersect at 90°?
Do they bisect the angles at the vertices?
symmetry: does the shape have any lines of symmetry?
or rotational symmetry?
