Mercury is the nearest planet to Sun and it is supposed to have the highest temperature.
Explanation:
Mercury do not have an atmosphere. Venus have a very thick atmosphere with green house gases like carbon di oxide..So actually Venus is hotter than Mercury at surface. Green hose gases trap heat from sunlight and increases the temperature of Venus .
