Why do dogs eat grass?

Pica, the technical term for "eating stuff (including grass) that is not food" is common dog behavior.

Explanation:

It's fairly common for dogs to eat grass unfortunately, since we don't speak dog we can only speculate as to why they eat the green stuff.

There are several theories as to why dogs eat grass among these are:

(1) They don't feel great so the eat grass to induce vomiting (ridding themselves of whatever is making them feel sick).

(2) They are attempting to improve digestion or attempting to treat intestinal worms.

(3) to supplement an unmet nutritional need (especially fiber).

The most commonly accepted theory however is that dogs just like the taste or feel that comes from eating grass.
