As a starting point, just take your equations for 1-D and apply them in 2-D

so in 1-D, #v = u + at#

in 2-D rectangular (x-y) co-ordinates these become:

#vec v =((v_x),(v_y)) = ((u_x),(u_y)) + ((a_x),(a_y)) t#

you can completely generalise by saying that #vec v = d/dt vec r# and #vec a = d^2/dt^2 vec r# and then choose the coordinate system if you like
