Given:#" "y/4+3=5-y/3#

'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using shortcuts

Move #-y/3# to the left of = and change its sign.
Move the #+3# to the right of = and change its sign.

#y/4+y/3=5-3#

Factor out the #y#

#y(1/4+1/3)=2#

#y(3+4)/12=2#

#7/12 y=2#

As the #7/12# is multiply move it to the other side of the = and change it to divide

#y=2-:7/12#

#y=cancel(2)^1xx(cancel(12)^6)/7#

#y=6/7#
