Multiply both sides by #color(blue)(6)#

#color(brown)(8color(blue)(xx6)=x/6color(blue)(xx6))#

#48=color(brown)(x) xx(color(blue)(6))/(color(brown)(6))#

but #6/6=1# giving

#48=x#
