Our body clock is out of sync with the actual time where you have gone.
Explanation:
If I am awake for 16 hours a day and wake up in New York and fly to London, the time would go 5 hours ahead. Therefore when it became 12, when I usually go to sleep in New York, I would be wide awake - as my body has another 5 hours of energy to run on. This means I will be awake until 5 in the morning in London resulting in me "lagging" behind the actual time.
