How do you solve #\frac { 3} { 5} n + \frac { 9} { 10} = - \frac { 1} { 5} n - \frac { 23} { 10}#?

#"Separate your variables........."n=-4#. I assume you mean #3/5xxn# not #3/(5n)# etc.

Explanation:

#3/5n+9/10=-1/(5)n-23/10#

Add #1/(5)n# to BOTH sides:

#3/5n+1/(5)n+9/10=cancel(+1/(5)n-1/(5)n)-23/10#

#4/5n+9/10=-23/10#

Subtract #9/10# from both sides:

#4/5n+cancel(9/10-9/10)=-23/10-9/10#

#4/5n=-32/10#

#n=-(5xx32)/(4xx10)=-(1xx32)/(4xx2)=-32/8=-4#
