From what country did workers come to work on the Central Pacific Railway?

1 Answer

The answer is China.

Explanation:

The Central Pacific hired thousands of workers from China. The vast majority of the workers that built the railroad east across the Sierra Nevada Mountains were Chinese. The Chinese were glad to come to the "Golden Mountain" to work. They worked for very little in wages and worked hard.

Sadly after the major contributions of the Chinese in building the cross continental railroad the Chinese experienced severe discrimination.
