Chloroplast and mitochondria are regarded as endosybionts. It is supposed that during the evolution of life, these two independent prokaryotes became symbionts and started survive independently prokaryotic nature even in the main cells.
These two organelles work as indepent as prokaryotes. They have their own cell mechanisms. Their DNA strands, 60s ribosomes etc., remind different from its own genes. Thank.
