The first thing that was made when the factory were created was to work the machines in the textiles factories.
In the olden days, things were made by hand. a pair of socks now would take a minute to make today but back then, a pair of socks would be made in one day if they worked on it all day.
It was hard work for only one pair of socks, that is why it was so expencive to by textiles in that day. But with the creation of machines, textiles are easier to make and therefore more cheaper.
