A copper (Cu) block at 90°C is placed into a beaker of water (#H_2O#) at 25°C. What is the expected result based on the heat flow between the substances?

Well, you would reasonably expect the water to heat up..........

Explanation:

And you would expect that the copper block would cool down.

And that after such heat exchange, the block of copper, and the beaker of water would HAVE the same temperature, somewhere between #25# #""^@C# and #90# #""^@C#, depending on the masses of each substance.

Given heat capacities of the water and the copper, and masses of each, you could estimate the values for this process.
