Pancreas is a very important organ situated in the loop of the deodenum. Pancreas is endocrine as well as exocrine in function.
Explanation:
- Endocrine Part of Pancreas:
The islets of Langerhans are small patches of alpha, beta and delta cells.These secrete hormones such as insulin and glucagon which help in regulation of glucose level in the blood.
- Exocrine part of pancreas
Acinar pancreatic cells function as exocrine glands secreting digestive juices which contain important enzymes which help in digestion of food.
