For two men for a two-week trip, you need $56

Explanation:

What I tend to do is to break it down into the simplest components (in this case, how much money for a single man for a day). From here, it would be simple to work out the total after a given amount of time and for given amount of people.

We know that it is $24 for 3 days for 4 men, so we can find the amount of many per man for the 3 days by dividing by 4:
#24/4=$6# per man for 3 days.

Then we can find the amount of money for a single day by dividing by three
#6/3=2# per man for a day.

Then we can calculate the value of which we need (two men for two weeks)
First, two weeks in 14 days, so we find out how much money it would be for a man to take a 14-day trip:
#2*14=28#

So it's $28 for a man to go on a 14-day trip. Multiply this by two and that's how much it would be for 2 men:
#28*2=$56#

So it's $56 for two men to go on a two-week camping trip.

In terms of a formula, I am unsure of one for such questions, I find it easy enough to bring it down to the simplest unit and work from there.
