A concave lens alone cannot form a real image.

Explanation:

A real image is formed only when two light rays meet at a point. Since a concave lens is a diverging lens, There's no way two light rays can meet at a point, unless and until it is used in combination of other lenses. So a concave lens can never form a real image.
